The Copperas Cove Downtown Association, the City of Copperas Cove, and the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce will host the birthday celebration.
There will be a homemade ice cream contest and a barbecue cook-off. Anyone from civic groups, businesses, churches or individuals can enter.
“There’s a chance for prizes, recognition, and just plain gloating,” Chairman Annabelle Smith said.
The Birthday Committee is hoping for some friendly rivalry among folks.
Copperas Cove Parks and Recreation will host an open house at Allin house where Covites can bring in antique collections for display. Those interested need to contact Jan Murphy with Parks and Recreation at 254-542-2719.
A section of downtown will be set aside for churches ad local civic groups to display their history and activities. There is no charge, but groups must sign up before the March 12th deadline.
“We’re looking for old photographs to use in the publicity, too,” said Linda Ledger, publicity chairman.
