Second installment for Music at the Gap set
-
Tickets are on sale this week at locations throughout Copperas Cove for the July 23 Music at the Gap appearances of Texas singer-songwriters Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines.
The two recording artists will take the stage at the Ogletree Gap Pavilion Friday (July 23) at 7 p.m. in the second installment of the three-part Music at the Gap live music series.
The series is co-sponsored by the Boys and Girls Club of Coryell County, the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau and the Copperas Cove Parks and Recreation Department, and Time-Warner Cable.
San Marcos-based Hendricks won a prestigious Grammy award for her song “Lil’ Jack Slade” that was featured on the Dixie Chicks’ “Home” album. Her third CD, “The Art of Removing Wallpaper”, was released recently.
Maines, the father of Dixie Chicks star Natalie Maines, is considered by many to be the greatest living steel guitar player. He holds the record for the number of appearances made on Austin City Limits by an individual performer, and has recorded with Joe Ely, Guy Clark, Ray Wylie Hubbard and Jerry Jeff Walker, and has produced albums for Butch Hancock, the Dixie Chicks, Walker and Robert Earl Keen.
Both performers will work with local children at the Boys and Girls Club of Coryell County in Copperas Cove prior to their performance.
Tickets for the concerts are available at $10 per performance.
Tickets are available at the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce, 204 E. Robertson Avenue; the Boys and Girls Club of Coryell County, 1216 Phil St.; National Bank; First Texas Bank, and Extraco Bank.
