Managing editor - The Copperas Cove City Council will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers. At this time, William "Skip" Rippy's retirement will be recognized. Rippy retired last month after 30 years with the Fire Department. Public hearings, considerations and final actions will be heard on the Miles End subdivision and Walker Place, phase three. Zoning designation for 211 Liberty Bell Lane is being requested to change for a local business to a general business/private club zoning. The business is also applying for a special use permit for a restaurant club. A public hearing is scheduled for both the rezoning and the permit. Assistant City Manager Robert Camareno will present information to amend the 2003-04 fiscal year budget. Action items for the meeting include the authorization to transfer unexpected and unencumbered appropriations, within the 2003-04 fiscal year budget, between departments. Three commissioners are scheduled to be appointed to the Housing Authority of the City. The members of the Central Texas Library System Advisory Council are requesting to form a regional library system organized as a nonprofit corporation. The City Manager will request permission to extend a letter of intent offering economic development incentives to the American Family Entertainment Center. Staff updates include wastewater treatment plants expansion and improvements and the City web site. Approval for paying $32,190 to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for the annual consolidated water quality assessment fees. The executive session will meet to discuss and deliberate Economic Development negotiations. This session will discuss or deliberate regarding commercial or financial information that the governmental body has received from a business prospect that the governmental body seeks to have locate, stay or expand in or near the territory of the governmental body and with which the governmental body is conducting economic development negotiations. Prior to the meeting, a workshop will be held at 6 p.m. to present and discuss the providing economic development incentives to a commercial business prospect. |
