The Economic Development Corporation is tweaking their contract with the American Family Entertainment Center, LLC., and soon a seven theater, eight-lane bowling alley along with a double arcade can be a sure thing here in Copperas Cove.
AFEC proposes to build the 65,000 square foot facility, adding another 25,000 square feet to the current 40,000 square foot Spec Building on Constitution Drive. “We have just some minor changes to make in the final contract,” said EDC Executive Director Carol Mills. “The ball is in their court now,” said Mills.
In other transactions around town, Mills announced Wednesday that the old Golden Corral building has also been sold, said Mills. CMS Properties out of Lubbock purchased the property and will continue marketing it in order to get someone into it, “We are still marketing it as well, along with CMS,” said Mills.
A possible strip mall is in the works on the south side of Hwy. 190, just east of FM 116. The land is under currently under contract for purchase by Eddie Vale of Killeen. Initial plans are for a 40,000 square foot retail office business.
No plans have yet been filed with the City for this business, as the contract has not been finalized.
Mills and IDC Realty broker Mike Linneman both confirmed a shopping facility is what Vale wants to build on the property, but that no firm plans had been confirmed as of Wednesday.
