Newspaper Bingo coming to Cove residents
-
Readers of The Leader-Press will be eligible to play Newspaper Bingo for a weekly cash prize of $100 starting March 20.
Each week, readers can stop by participating merchants and ask for an official “Newspaper Bingo” card.
Free cards will be available each week in the businesses of the participating merchants for players who are at least 18 years old.
To play, bingo players will check the ads in each issue of The Leader-Press. The ads of the participating merchants will include “Bingo Bugs,” which will be stamped with the call letters and numbers distinctive to the game.
Anyone who matches all 24 numbers on one of the game cards is a winner.
All numbers needed to complete each week’s game will have appeared by the time the next game begins.
The winner or winners will share a prize of $100 in Bingo Bucks, which will spend the same as cash in the stores of any of the participating merchants. If there is no winner during a week, the $100 prize will be added to the following week’s prize. Over $1,000 will be given away in the nine weeks over the duration of the game.
Occasionally, the “Bingo Bugs” may appear in other parts of the paper. Participants should read every issue and be sure to check the classifieds in The Leader-Press for any special bonus numbers.
All winning cards must be returned to The Leader-Press office by the following Monday. The new game begins each Monday.
There is no obligation or purchase necessary. A copy of The Leader-Press will be available for public perusal at the newspaper’s office and the local library.
Newspaper Bingo cards also may be obtained by placing a request in writing to Newspaper Bingo Promotion. The requestor’s name and address should be typed or printed clearly.
Newspaper Bingo gives people a fun game to play and a chance at winning a prize. Persons will be welcomed to submit their comments in writing to the newspaper.
To date, the participating businesses include Ledger Furntiture, Scholtzsky’s Deli, the Carpet and Decorating Center, My Favorite Things, Baggett’s Drug. Co, Russ’ Pizza and More and Crafter’s Showcase.
Anyone who has a winning card is asked to print his or her name, address and telephone number on the back of the card. The card then should be mailed or brought in to The Leader-Press by the prescribed deadline. The correct color of the card that is valid for that week’s play will be announced on the papers regular promotional page. The first week’s color will be yellow.
