Repairs force Boys & Girls Club to move to Phil Ave. - The Boys and Girls Club of Coryell County will be temporarily operating out of the Phil Avenue site while much-needed repairs are being made to the East Avenue E school gym. “Because we averaged over 35 teens on a daily basis at the East Avenue E location, we originally had plans to convert the Phil Avenue site to a secondary unit that would have provided services specifically to teens,” said Boys and Girls Club Chief Professional Officer Jon Charles. “With the repairs being done at the gym, we are pleased that the Phil Avenue site was already ready to provide the services.” Charles also said that the club’s core programs would continue to be provided for youth between the ages of six and in the first grade through 18 years old Mondays through Fridays from 3-7 p.m. at the Phil Ave. site. “We are looking forward to a successful school year,” said Charles.
