Mobile home destroyed THE COPPERAS COVE Fire Department had a busy week, putting out this grass fire across Hwy. 190 from Town Square Shopping Center and battling a mobile home fire Sunday morning. The mobile home was a complete loss. – Photo by LARRY HAUK - Copperas Cove and Kempner firefighters prevented a single-mobile home blaze from becoming a two-mobile home fire on Sunday. A mobile home in the 800 block of Kubitz was fully enveloped in flame when firefighters arrived. The two mobile homes were connected by a breezeway. Fourteen firefighters answered the 10:45 a.m. call and CCFD reports say no one was injured. Firefighters stayed on the scene for four hours and used 3,750 gallons of water. The cause of the blaze is not known, and it remains under investigation.
