Sutherland - A funeral for Coy Radford Sutherland, 73, of Copperas Cove will take place Feb. 6 at 11 a.m. at Clear Creek Baptist Church in Kempner. Rev. Thomas Edwards will officiate at the ceremony. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Sutherland died Feb. 4 in Killeen. Born at Jan. 24, 1931, in Bucu, Va., Sutherland had been disabled since birth. He sat in front of his house and waved at passersby for over 20 years. He had lived in the area since 1960. Sutherland is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Stella Sutherland; two brothers, John Sutherland and Cecil Sutherland; and three sisters, Gay Crider, Connie Boone and Trula Mullins. Survivors include a brother, Jim Sutherland of Haysi, Va.; and two sisters, Eula Yates and Patricia Sutherland, both of Copperas Cove. The family requests that memorials be made to Clear Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.
