Christensen

- A funeral with full military honors for James Alden Christensen, 68, of Copperas Cove will take place June 18 at 2 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Chapel in Copperas Cove.
Christensen died June 12 in Copperas Cove.
Born Jan. 10, 1936, in Scotia Howard, Neb., where he was reared and educated, Christensen served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1980. He was a veteran of the Vietnam and the Korean Wars. His decorations and awards include the National Defense Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Silver 2 Loops; Safe Driver Badge; Vietnam Service Medal with 1 Silver Service Star and 4 Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; Bronze Star Medal with 1st Oak Leaf Cluster; Aircraft Crewman Badge; Air Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm; Army Commendation Medal; Expert (Rifle). He had lived in the area since 1974.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Christensen of Arizona; a daughter, Stephanie Christensen of Switzerland; a brother, Duanne Christensen of Colorado; three grandchildren and four nephews.
