SFC Ret. Richard Vasquez, 75, of Copperas Cove died Oct. 19 at his residence. Memorial services were held Oct. 23 at Crawford- Bowers Funeral Home with the Chaplain Darwin Evans officiating, Cremation with burial will be held at a later time. Vasquez was born Sept. 14, 1927, in Bisbee Ariz. He was raised and educated in Los Angeles, Calif., where he graduated. He entered the U.S. Army in 1948 and served two tours in the Vietnam War. He retired in 1974 at the rank of SFC with over 26 years service. Following his military retirement, he worked for 20 years at J & J Maintenance at the Darnell Army Hospital. He is survived in death by his wife, Elfriede Vasquez of Copperas Cove; two sons, Jimmy Vasquez of Temple, and Daniel Vasquez of Copperas Cove; two daughters, Mary Eschenburg of Austin,and JoAnne Vasquez of Killeen; and four grandchildren. Memorials can be made to VistaCare Hospice.

•Ayala
Dona Louise Pate Ayala, Age 63, long time resident of Wilbarger County, died Oct 19, in an Electra Hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday, Oct 23, in the Central Christian Church with Rev. Sterling Lentz officiating. Interment will be in the Harrold Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Dona was born Sept. 8, 1939, in Galveston, the daughter of the late Melvin J. and Annie Laura Kennedy Pate. She married Tomas Ayala on May 30, 1967, in Vernon. She was a graduate of Gladewater High School and attended Tarleton State College. She was a long time resident of Wilbarger County except for the years she was with her husband when he was in the service. She was a member of Central Christian Church, a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary of Vernon and was a volunteer with the U.S.S V.
She is survived by her husband, Tomas Ayala of Harrold; a daughter; Laura Jo Kiser of Wichita Falls; two sons, Scott DuWayne Ayala of Iowa Park and Billy Jack Brown of Wichita Falls; a sister; Linda Gay Hendrixson of Archer City; two brothers, Bob Pate of Houston and Melvin Pate Jr.and three grandchildren. Visitation will be Oct. 22 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Golden Wings Hospice Foundation.

Heidi M. Coet, 33, of Kempner died Oct. 21 at a local hospital. Arrangements are pending with the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home.

•Elaine Isenberg of 2901 Deer Flat Drive, Copperas Cove departed this life Oct. 17. She was preceded in death by her dearly beloved mate Burnett (Bud) Isenberg. This special lady is survived by her devoted son, Edward, of Copperas Cove and one grandson, Burnett K. Isenberg, Captain USAF of Great Falls, Mont. And loving nieces and nephews.
She was a marvelous wife, a model parent and a thoughtful caring friend who touched the lives of everyone she met. She settled in the valley about 20 years ago after retiring from a full life in Gloucester, Mass. and became active in community affairs and the local Library Association.
In accordance with her final wishes, there will be no services, Cremation will be executed and her ashes will be scattered in Gloucester Harbor, Mass.
