Funeral services for Harry D. Heasley, 67, of Copperas Cove were held at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove on March 22, 2003, at 10 a.m. Interment was at Copperas Cove City Cemetery with full military honors.
Heasley died Thursday, March 20 at a local hospital.
Born May 20, 1935, in Grove City, Pa., Heasley had been a resident of Copperas Cove resident since 1970. Reared and educated in Forrestville and Slippery Rock, Pa., Heasley graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1953.
He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1974 and was a Vietnam veteran. He retired in 1974 with over 20 years of service with the rank of Sergeant First Class. Heasley’s awards and decorations include the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Heasley married Jeanne Ann McGill of Elkton, MD on July 5, 1957. He worked locally for Hughes Construction Co. He was a member of VFW Post 8577 in Copperas Cove and American Legion Post 852 of Harrisburg, PA.
Heasley is survived by his wife, Jeanne, three daughters, Kim Heasley and Joni Harris of Temple, and Janette Knox of Belton, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Victor Walter (V. W.) Hauk, 70, of Cameron will be 2 p.m. Friday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarkson Cemetery in the Clarkson community.
Family visitation will be Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. . Hauk died Monday, March 24, 2003 at his residence.
Hauk, rancher and retired Milam County Commissioner, was born Aug. 15, 1932, in the Clarkson community to Joe and Vera Garrett Hauk. He married Anita Ocker on April 23, 1954. He was an U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Paul Hauk.
He is survived by his wife, Anita Hauk of Cameron; two sons, Larry Hauk of Copperas Cove and Donald Hauk of Cameron; two daughters, Marilyn Hauk Essex of Des Moines, Iowa and Polly Hauk of Cameron; two brothers, Johnny Hauk of New Braunfels and Billy Hauk of West, and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Clarkson Cemetery Association, Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home, P. O. Box 225, Cameron, Texas, 76520.
Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
