Funeral services for Wolfgang Leonhard Filber, 67, of Copperas Cove, was held at Sheppard Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Copperas Cove on June 9. Deacon Weldon Bowling officiated at the ceremony. Filber died on June 7 in a Temple hospital. Born May 18, 1936, in Fulda, Germany, he is survived by two sisters, Erika McGinnis of Copperas Cove and Lydia Smith of Douglas, Ga., several nieces, nephews and extended family. •King• Funeral services for Yasuko King, 74, of Copperas Cove, will be held June 12 at 9 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Copperas Cove. Burial will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Jackson Cemetery in Joaquin. King died June 8 in a Killeen hospital. Born February 27, 1929, in Irumagun Satomia, Japan, King was raised and educated there. She married Billy King in 1955 and lived with her husband in Germany, Japan and France. She moved to Copperas Cove in 1969. King is survived by her husband, a brother, Hiroshi Odaka, and a sister, Hisako Hashimoto, both of Japan. •Strychalski• A memorial service for Rosalie Strychalski, 65, of Copperas Cove, will take place on June 14 at 11 a.m. at Pidcoke United Methodist Church. Rev. Lianne Turner and Rev. Rebecca Emery will officiate at the ceremony. Strychalski died June 8 at a Temple Hospital. Born January 19, 1938, in Indianapolis, Ind., Strychalski was raised and educated there. She married Joseph Strychalski on May 15, 1957, at Fort Hood. She lived in Germany, Illinois and New York, retiring to Copperas Cove in 1968. She was employed as a telephone operator for Mid-Tex Telephone Company in Killeen. She was a member of Pidcoke United Methodist Church, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 8577 and a family life coordinator of Pidcoke United Methodist Church. Strychalski is survived by her husband; four sons, David Michael Strychalski of Austin, Edward Joseph Strychalski of Lampasas, James Patrick Strychalski of Temple, Leonard William Strychalski of San Antonio; a brother, William Patterson of Howell, Mich.; two sisters, Janette Mandryk of Indianapolis, Ind., and Anita Stall of Lakeland, Fla.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove is in charge of the arrangements. •May• Funeral services for Marcelene E. May, 71, of Kempner, was held June 10 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Killeen. Rev. David Shaver officiated at the ceremony. Interment followed at Killeen Memorial Park. May died June 6 at a Temple Hospital. Born Aug. 14, 1931, in Florence, she married Odus D. May on September 27, 1947. She worked at Rhodes Foods of Copperas Cove for 28 years. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting for family and friends. May is survived by her husband; a son, James May of Copperas Cove; daughters Janice Terry and Kathy May of Kempner, Martha Spicer of Lampasas, Nan Bales of Harker Heights and Jan Doyle of Copperas Cove; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. •Stuart• James R. Stuart, 69, of Copperas Cove, died June 7 in a Fort Hood hospital. Arrangements are pending with Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. |
