A funeral for James Richard Stuart, 69, of Copperas Cove, was held on June 13 at Crawford-Bowers Chapel in Copperas Cove. Burial with military honors followed at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Born Dec. 16, 1933, in Ann Arbor, Mich., Stuart was reared and educated there. He joined the U.S. Army and retired in 1982 with more than 20 years of service. He served in England, Germany, and was a Vietnam veteran. After his military retirement, Stuart was employed at Fort Hood. He married Betty Jo Lacy in 1968. Stuart was a member of VFW Post 8577, the American Legion, and the American Red Cross. Preceded in death by his wife, Stuart is survived by five daughters, Betty Elaine Wint, Vicki L. Choate and Daniella "Sue" Dixon, all of Oklahoma City, Okla., Barbara Jo Curley of Lockport, Ill., and LeAnita Kirchner of Hopkins, S.C.; two brothers, George Stuart and Robert Stuart of Dallas; a sister, Sharon Garey of Dallas; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. •Eddy Ray Jameson• A memorial service for Eddy Ray Jameson, 52, of Cedar Park was held June 16 at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church of God. Rev. Marshal Bishop officiated at the ceremony. Burial followed at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Jameson died June 13 in a Copperas Cove Nursing Home. Born November 8, 1950, in Evansville, Ind., Jameson joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam during 1969 and 1970. He was a loving husband, father, brother and Grandpa. Later, he went on to become a successful contractor and project manager in the Austin area, but his biggest projects was his children. Jameson is survived by his wife, Misty; his children, Shawna, Richard, Randie and Raymond; a brother, Tom Jameson and wife, Patti; and three grandchildren. The family wishes to thank caregivers and nurses at Windcrest Nursing Center and eternal thanks to VistaCare Hospice for their special care, friendship and devotion. •Kelly Anne Guthrie• A funeral for Kelly Anne Guthrie, 39, of Copperas Cove, will be held June 19 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Copperas Cove. Father Paul Bomba will officiate at the ceremony. Guthrie died June 13 at a Temple hospital as a result of a motor vehicle accident. Born May 23, 1964 in Schenectady, N.Y., Guthrie was reared and educated in Copperas Cove. She graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1982 and attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. She graduated as a registered nurse from Central Texas College and worked as a traveling nurse throughout the United States, working in emergency rooms and intensive care units. She married Mark Alan Guthrie on Dec. 19, 1992. Guthrie is survived by her husband; parents, William and Sally McMinn of Copperas Cove; a son, Zachary Alan Guthrie, 9; a brother, Henry McMinn of Anchorage, Alaska; and two sisters, Kathleen Kepler of Copperas Cove, and Kimberly McMinn of New York City. Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Copperas Cove is in charge of the arrangements. |
