A funeral for Lee D. Dennis Jr., 50, of Copperas Cove will take place Aug. 27 at 2 p.m. at Marlboro Heights Church in Killeen. The Rev. Shawn Moten will officiate at the ceremony. Burial with full military honors will follow at Copperas Cove City Cemetery. Viewing will take place Aug. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home. Dennis died Aug. 20 in Killeen. Born Sept. 13, 1952, in Laurel, Miss., Dennis was reared an educated in Hattiesburg, Miss. He attended Rowan High School in Hattiesburg. He married his first wife, Emma Magee on Dec. 31, 1972. They had three children. He married Margie Simpson in January 1984. She preceded him in death in 1997. Dennis served in the U.S. Army from 1972 until 1995, retiring with the rank of SFC/E7. His tours of duty included Alaska, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas. He was currently working as a welder at Kaylan-Siebert L. P. in Gatesville. Survivors include a son, Gerald L. Dennis of Hattiesburg, Miss.; four daughters, Sylena L. Price and Emily L. Dennis, both of Hattiesburg, Miss.; Jacqueline M. Stokes and Troylynn Simpson, both of Copperas Cove; a brother, Charles E. Dennis of Hattiesburg, Miss.; four sisters, Willie L. Keys and Loretta Wheeler, both of Sandusky, Ohio; Arristeen Wilson of Lafayette, La. and Dorothy Boykins of Hattiesburg, Miss.; and eight grandchildren. Jackson A funeral for Patricia Ann Angel Jackson, 38, of Copperas Cove will be held Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. at Hillside Evangelical Methodist Church. Pastor Russ Cochran will officiate at the ceremony. Burial will follow at Copperas Cove City Cemetery. Jackson died Aug. 21 at her residence. Born March 2, 1965, in Gary, Ind., Jackson was reared an educated in Copperas Cove. She graduated with the class of 1983 from Copperas Cove High School. She attended Central Texas College and dedicated her life to childcare services, working at day care centers. She had been working for the last 13 years at Agape-Land Day Care Center at Hillside Evangelical Methodist Church. Jackson was preceded in death by her father, Clark Jackson Jr. in February, 1965. Jackson is survived by her mother, Ruth Brown of Copperas Cove; three brothers, Gunnery Sgt. Derrick A. Jackson of Virginia Beach, Va.; Terrance L. Brown and Antonio Jackson, both of Copperas Cove; two sisters, Tasha Anderson of Copperas Cove and Donita Jackson of Austin; and maternal grandmother Addie Thomas of Gary, Ind. The family requests that memorials be made to Hillside Evangelical Methodist Church. McCutcheon A funeral for Fred William McCutcheon, 85, of Copperas Cove will be held Aug. 26 at 10 a.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Pastor Larry Townsend and Dr. Donald Biddy will officiate at the ceremony. Entombment will follow at Killeen Memorial Park Mausoleum. McCutcheon died Aug. 27 in a Killeen hospital. Born to Robert Camel McCutcheon, a Civil War veteran, and Fanny Victoria Swindle on Sept. 29, 1917, in Bath Springs, Tenn., McCutcheon was reared and educated there. He married Betty Claudine Biddy on April 1, 1947, in Burnet. He served in the U.S. Army from 1941 until 1967 and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He worked for NAF at Fort Hood Officers Club for 13 years. He was a life member of DAV and a former member of the Masonic Lodge in Decatur County, Tenn. McCutcheon was preceded in death by a daughter, Freda Lee McCutcheon, his parents and one sister. Survivors include wife, Betty Claudine McCutcheon; a son, Robert Fred McCutcheon of Pearland; a daughter, Carol Hawkins of Van Buren, Ark.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. |
